Position Summary:

The Operations Manager is responsible for oversight and management of customer service, graphics and engineering teams. This position will be responsible for providing effective leadership in the management of operations by directing and coordinating activities consistent with established goals and objectives. The Operations Manager will lead a team that drives improved customer experience and efficiencies to ensure operational excellence.

Essential Functions:

  • Manages the primary work centers within each area of responsibility, ensuring production is flowing and all work centers are staged to plan.
  • Ensures adherence to all quality control processes and procedures and actively supports the company's internal audit program.
  • Oversees new customer product specifications to ensure all critical requirements are met in a timely manner.
  • Manages the communication of project statuses and timelines for all research and development activities throughout the company.
  • Demonstrates detailed technical knowledge of Phenix Label Company's manufacturing capabilities.
  • Resolves customer complaints and answers customers' questions regarding policies and procedures.
  • Manages account assignments from pre-sale to final billing.
  • Recommends and implements measures to motivate team members and to improve workflow methods, performance, quality, or efficiency.
  • Develops professional customer service and art standards by studying the departmental workflow for effectiveness to ensure that all processes and procedures are documented and followed.
  • Develops and retains excellent team members while promoting a culture of accountability, urgency and high performance.
  • Creates a positive team environment and demonstrates strong leadership skills through communication, supervision, collaboration, coaching and mentoring of others.
  • Drives continuous improvement and innovation of service delivery processes.
  • Any other assigned tasks.


Secondary Functions:

  • Individual must be able to work independently with minimal guidance required. This implies good time management, planning/organization, and decision-making skills.
  • Individual must be able to interact effectively with a wide variety of people in a wide variety of settings, possessing strong communication skills, maintaining flexibility, objectivity and a capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Individual must be able to handle administrative activities, maintain records, reports, or files.
  • Collaborate with team members when needed with technical expertise. 

Position Specifications:

  • Preferred 4 year degree and 5 + years of successful experience leading and managing teams
  • High school diploma / GED / or equivalent required
  • Candidate should possess strong mechanical, mathematical, and analytical skills
  • Candidate should possess a strong work ethic, time management and troubleshooting skills, a positive attitude, and be detail oriented
  • Candidate should be familiar with word processing and other basic computer skills
  • English language required.

Requires being exact or highly accurate, meeting strict deadlines, and working with others in a group or team. Regularly required to stand; walk; talk; sit; listen; lift up to 50 pounds and have vision capabilities that enable reading and viewing a computer screen. Requires dealing with unpleasant or discourteous people; includes conflict situations. Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls. Job tasks are performed in close physical proximity to other people, includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting. Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
